Underlining text tool is deselecting after each time being used

Hello,

I have following problem: When I want to highlight some text with the text marking tool (found in the comment function section), the tool gets deselected if I mark a connected text. Therefore, I have to reselect the tool every time I want to mark some additional text. That is very annoying, and I cannot preserve a fluent marking process. The deselection problem of the tool came up just some hour ago although I haven't changed any configuration or such.

How could this be solved?

Could you please try rebooting the computer, then highlight and see if that helps?

Have you tried with other pdfs?

Please confirm the version of Reader/Acrobat installed on the machine.

To check the version, launch Reader for ex.>click Help>About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Which Operating System is installed on the machine-Mac/Windows?
