@ try67 :
We need the updates for Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0.0 on Macintosh.
The link you've kindly posted (thank you) now points to nothing.
It is not very, very useful to call software “very very old”, unless suggesting that people dodge it (like a rat running under a tablecloth at a restaurant) based solely on age. Adobe now seem to enjoy doing this.
Age is relative. It's a matter of perspective, and software data itself does not age or wear-out as vegetables or shoes do. It is everlasting. As long as there is hardware which can run it, it is still valid. We possess such hardware, therefore the release date is irrelevant.
We have to assume that Adobe have removed those updates intentionally to force users to spend more money. This is INEXCUSABLE, especially considering the purchase price which was sky-high, and the fact that no advanced warning was given before purchase that the clock would be ticking.
Now that we have advanced warning, we will not buy from a company who has the ability to host updates for a very, very long time, but refuses to do so. All tech companies will reap what they sow, not just Adobe.
If we are meant to assume that hosting these updates is very expensive, then we have a question: Did Adobe even hand-over the updates to Archive.org for safe-keeping?
Lastly, if the updates have merely been moved to another location on Adobe's website, please post the new URL and ignore most of what was said above, thank you.

This is a user-to-user help forum where industry professionals volunteer to help others. Although the forum is sponsored and monitored by Adobe, we are not Adobe employees. And we don't get paid to be here.
Acrobat 7 was released in 2004 and was designed to run on the operating systems of that time: Windows 2000 and XP, and Apple OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), 10.3 (Panther), and 10.4 (Tiger).
When Apple and Microsoft update their operating systems, it forces software companies -- all software companies -- to update their programs to run on the new operating systems. Both Apple and Microsoft's OS's were substantially rewritten over the past 15-20 years, so there's little chance that any software program from that era will still run on today's operating systems. But occassionally, an old program will still run today, but most likely will have some hitches and hangs.
I don't know of any company that still has 20-year-old program files available to download. Back then, you're copy probably came on a CD rather than a download.
Hope this helps.

Hold on a second while I shed a tear… okay, done.
Now, if you'll allow me to post my initial message, which got deleted about 5 times already, maybe you'll see where I was coming from.

I see no reason why it was removed, and I tend to agree with the sentiment... You're in luck, in a way, because later versions (8 and possibly 9) can't be used AT ALL now, because Adobe retired the activation servers and removed access to the non-activation installer from their servers, so if you had a license to one of those versions and needed to install it you wouldn't have been able to do so. The updates for those versions are still available (or were), though, and should be for yours, too, once the FTP site is back online.

Wow, I'm shocked that Adobe would have done something like that.
: D
Thank you for your insight and experience try67.

Yeah, it's a mystery, and one of those messages just reappeared since I was here last. I've edited it above. Please remove it.
For what it's worth, after posting the initial message, I was sometimes seeing a pop-up alert at the top that it had been marked as spam. Some messages would disappear quickly, some slowly, which I assumed to be the work of human hands, but perhaps it was automated. I even removed the URL which I had put in there initially, and changed other formatting which might have triggered a spam filter, but still it was removed.

Hang on another second, I had to go back and read this twice, did you just say that this forum is “sponsored and monitored by Adobe”, but you don't get paid to work here?
I'm sorry, but it would seem to be your own bad judgement for not having demanded some kind of remuneration for your time. Adobe certainly charges enough money per software license to pay something to you who work here. And, since they're not paying a dime, why do they get the right to “monitor” the comments? Move it someplace else where they can't control what we say.
All this making excuses on Adobe's behalf just discredits whatever noble efforts to help people which you might be making.

It should still be there. It seems the entire FTP site is not functioning currently, and not for the first time... I will report this to the Adobe Staff who hang around here and hopefully it can be resolved soon.
As mentioned, I don't work for Adobe, and nor do most people posting here, and we have zero influence over how things are done in that company. We also don't control which messages are removed or not, although we can recommend it. I don't think your message should have been removed, as it's a legitimate question, unless you used profanities.

Both.

However, only some require consumption.

Well, this is strange.
The assumption I made when I couldn't connect last time was that Adobe had removed all updates, and there was evidence on other pages that this was the case, but now… I tried again to visit the FTP site based on your comments, and I'm getting this instead:
Alert: 550 Failed to Change Directory.

I've tried your link - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/7x/ - exactly as you posted it, and also have tried substituting-in “mac” in place of “win”, since I needed the Mac versions. Both get the same result.

AH-HAH!
The 550 error from today was actually being caused by Little Snitch (network filter) reacting too slowly for the server's liking. So, I opened-up the connections. We now have access to the FTP site, Mac versions included!! : )

I'm surprised to hear that, as it's not working for me still... Maybe a caching issue, or a DNS server that needs to update.

Hmm, yeah.
I'm now getting the 550 error again, even with the changes I made to Little Snitch, so maybe it was just a fluke that I managed to get into the FTP directory and snag one download. Maybe it's an intermittent connection problem.
