Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, document are returned black with white blocks where you  have redacted.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.05.20048 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.

Please share the screenshot of the issue for a better understanding. You may also checkout the similar discussion https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/screen-turns-to-black-and-white-dots-using-adobe-acrob... and see if that works.

Let us know if you are referring to something else.

Regards

Amal

Yes using latest version. Yes happens to all pdf's, one page, five pages or lots of pages.

Page was scanned in and page number ect redacted.

Result attached.

I have found that if I export it to word and then from word export it back to PDF then redact works but this takes a long time and obviously not the correct solution.

Thanks for your help

If the document is a scanned PDF, then you may be redacting images, not words.  Are you able to mark words for redaction by highlighting them?  Have you explored the redaction appearance settings?

Tell us all you can about your documents and process used.  Maybe we can collectively get a solution.

My best,

Dave
