Using Action Wizard to Convert multiple .pdfs to text

Community Beginner ,

Greetings,

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.

I want to use the Action Wizard to convert multiple .pdfs to Word text.

My goal is to avoid opening each .pdf individually, selecting Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C, and then pasting the content into Word.  I want to automate that process.

The original .pdfs are images.  I have already established an Action that recognizes the text in each .pdf.  That part works just fine.

When I attempted, however, to set up an Action for converting the .pdfs to Word files, I do not get the desired results.

The Action that I set up is "Save", "Specify Settings", and "Export File(s) to Alternative Format (Word 97-2003 Document)".

Even though Adobe has already recognized the text in each .pdf, the resulting Word documents include images of the text, and not the text itself.  This is not helpful.

What should I do differently?

Thanks and regards,

Wililam

If you want it to be saved as a text file, why not select "Text (Plain)" under the Export To option?

Thanks.  That option worked, but I remain puzzled why the conversion to Word went sideways.

Regards,

William

Probably because the files contain images as well as text, so both are

exported to the Word file, whereas when you export it as a text file the

images are discarded.
