Using checkboxes for form actions

New Here ,
Feb 11, 2020 Feb 11, 2020

Hello,

Is there a simple way to have a Yes checkbox add additional questions to a form? My current form for proposals is 22 pages long and creating a form with sections that only appear with Yes answers would be appreciated by the campus. I've tried searching through the different apps and as a novice, thought it best to seek asisstance. Thank you ahead of time.

Hi Jeff,

I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC in the Creative Cloud. I've added the Tools Action Wizard, Prepare Form, and Create Custom Tool in the hopes I could figure it out myself.

Thanks and hope that helps.

Yes and no.
No if you want to add zones like in an HTML form.
Yes if you want to add a page containing additional fields to fill in.

In PDF forms the root unit is the page, and we cannot do otherwise.

Thank you JR and it is good to know that is possible.

However, as a novice I'm having difficulty getting this procedure to work. I've tried the Prepare Form tool and added a checkbox. I selected Mouse Enter as the trigger and Show/hide field as the Select Action. Is this the proper path? I could not find anything on this topic in the online help.

Thanks again.

Read This:

Showing and hiding entire parts of a PDF is not easy to setup , but it is possible using OCGs

You can script both hiding and showing page content and form fields. But you can also attache OCGs to form fields. This is not a feature that is available from the Acrobat UI. You'll find a 3rd party plug-in that provides this capability here:
