Watermark Settings are not Saving

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve this issue. I have used the same watermark for years, and all of a sudden with the latest update, the settings were no longer saved. 

 

I tried to recreate the watermark by selecting the file I have always used, setting all of the appearance options to how they were before and saving the settings. This gets it to appear as it always has on the current document. But each time I open a new document, I have to select the file and set the appearance options and position all over again. 

 

I have looked through other posts about seemingly the same issue, and have checked the security settings that others have found to help them, but that hasn't worked for me. Can someone please help?

Your watermarks are not saving? Could you please give some additional information: OS and version, Acrobat and version (the exact version number please!). 

 

It would also be nice to learn your workflow, so that we can follow that.

I'm using Acrobat Pro 64bit Version 2023.006.20360

My os is Windows 10 Pro version 22H2

 

Sorry, I'm a minimum experience self taught user. I'm not sure what else you would like to know. Would screen shots of each step I am taking help?

Here is what I have been doing. You can see in the last screen shot, when I go back in to use the watermark I just created, none of the settings have saved.

We had the same watermark saved, and had been using it on mulitple computers for over 2 years. 

Yesterday, I had an error message pop up saying that Acrobat AcroCEF had stopped working, and to close the program. After following the link in the pop-up, the suggested solution was to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro. Which I did. My old watermark was now missing, and when I went to do exactly what I did years ago to create it, the settings do not save. I asked the other people I work with to open their Acrobat, they got the same error message, had to reinstall as well, and are having the same problem.

I would use the image as a stamp instead, but we need it to always be placed in the same spot on our invoice, and most of the time across 50+ pages at a time. 

 

I found another question posted in the community about watermark issues that seemed similiar, and the suggestions made there were to go into preferences > SEcurity (Enhanced), and unselect Enable enhanced security. I tried this, and it didn't work. (It didn't seem to work for that other person to whom it was suggested either.)
