I am scanning documents into Adobe Acrobat DC, and some of these documents have highlighted areas on them, and when I scan in black and white the highlighted areas just show up as scratchy lines making the scan look dirty and sometimes difficult to read. Wondering if there is a way to scan a document in and have it not show where the highlighted portions are. If I scan with the windows fax and scan application it shows up clean and doesn't read the highlights. Any suggestions?

Hi Casey,
While scanning from Acrobat ProDC, when you are on the Scanner selection screen with different Scan settings.
Click on the gear icon to open scan settings and uncheck the Optimize PDF check box there. Optimize PDF option modifies the scanned PDF to make it lesser in size yet fully functional by removing noise and other hairline garbage.
Disabling this will ensure your document is shown in an "as it is" manner.
Thanks
Rishabh
