Go to the menu on the very top left hand corner of your Adobe screen, click and then

Go to Preferences.

Select Language on the left pane.

Uncheck the 'Hindi Digits' checkbox (second last option).

Click OK.

Hope that helps.  The reason I couldn't resolve from the original instruction is that I didn't go to the "Menu" button first! 🙂

There is no Preferences on the top left at all.

Adobe Acrobat is terrible software. I gave up because I couldn't edit a number and used rival, free software to do it.

In the new adobe you go to menu at top left of the screen, and drop down and preferences is there. Select languages then untick hindi digits there

Thank you, I found it.

Why did Adobe do this? This is the stupidest thing I have experienced in a software programme ever. There is not a single person on the planet who uses Hindi numerals. Why doesn't Adobe change this madness?
