I'VE SPENT A HALF HOUR NOW, ON A TIGHT DEADLINE, TRYING TO FIND THE VERTICAL SCROLL NBARS IN THE NEW ACROBAT PRO CONTINUOUS RELEASE VERSIOJN 2023. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TO US? THE WEB IS FULL OF PEOPLE TRYING TO FIND THESE SCROLL BARS! I'VE GOT A 230 PAGE PDF TO EDIT AND I'M HAVING TO USE THE UP & DOWN ARROWS TO MOVE ONE PAGE AT A TIME!
WHERE ARE THE SCROLL BARS?!! [Repeated text removed]
2020 VERSION IS HERE: https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/download-install/kb/acrobat-2020-downloads.html
Install it (it asks for a serial number; I chose "trial version yada yada" and when it asked again on startup I choose "use my username" or something like that), then
> choose a PDF in Finder (Mac),
> Right-click and choose "Open with" and choose the 2020 version (for me it appears with a black icon)
> make sure it works (it does for me)
> Go back to Finder, and on any PDF
> Right-cli
...Hi All
The issue has been addressed with the new version of Acrobat (23.08.20555) and now we have a preference to enable the scroll bar in Mac.
Please find details for the fix here:- https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/scroll-framework-upgrade-macos.html

I simply downloaded the 2020 version, and I am on Mac 2020 running Big Sur. It works perfect for me. I am not using the new version, the scroll bars still don't work.

Hi all,
I gave up reeading all the comments as it is all too much.
@Serene_nature15C3 I have no idea why you say Acrobat has been updated when it is still not working. I am summarise this simply in case there has been a missunderstand.
The scrolls bars do not show when you have the 'Comments' Panel open. I can see scroll bars for the page, but I want to be able to see scroll bars for the comments panel. See attached screen grab of a current doc I am working on.
CAN WE PLEASE GET THIS FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL?

Any updates on this? Scroll bars on a document processing app is not an unusual request....

How much time do you need? Another month has gone by since your repoly and another update was just installed on my Mac and...still no scroll bars. This is not an unusual request guys - it is a basic functionality of software worldwide! Please provide an exact date when this issue will be resolved.

Hi Amal, can you PLEASE update this thread asap. This is an important fix to the basic functionality of Acrobat that Adobe has broken.

This is absolutely appalling. Why has such a basic functionality such as scroll bars been removed? Of all the ways to "clean up" the UI, this was not the thing to remove. Let's dump the stupid AI query option and bring back basic functionality, like scroll bars and showing the page size. Oh, and let's also fix it so the rulers don't cut off the page anymore.

Hi Amal,
As this is taking a long time to fix, can you at least help me by telling me how to stop my current version of Acrobat Pro DC 2022.001.20112 from constantly telling me to update (see attachment)? This happens nearly every time I close a PDF - hundreds of times a day!
Thanks, Tom

Amal, you need to realize this is the equivalent of Toyota suddenly putting the steering wheel in the back seat. In fact, the entire UI "overhaul" has pretty much rendered the entire product useless, but the scroll bars is so over the top as to be macabre. In a separate context, one person commented that these sorts of things are a result of developer narcissism, and I have to agree. Mr. or Ms. Developer, this thing you're working on may be the entire focus of your working life, but to us shills out here who have to pay (and pay!) monthly for this, it's a tool, and it's supposed to be working for us, not the other way around. It's at best overhead, and at worst a necessary evil. Stop futzing with the UI when it was working just fine!

I'm on Sonoma 14.5 on Macbook Pro. I went back to the previous Acrobat Pro version because I hated the new format, all the panels obstructing my page view, the non-user-friendly interface and the fact that even after a few months of using it, I was still having to search for icons and tools.
On version 2024.002.20893 I went to View > Page Display > and checked "Enable Scrolling" and I'm now getting both scroll bars. The comments scroll bars only show up if I have enough comments that it runs over, and the page scroll bars show up if I'm only viewing a portion of a page (zoomed in), OR if I have more than one page. I still have to select "enable scrolling" whenever I open a new doc, but I can live with that.

This only works if you don't want to view the whole page at once. AS soon as you switch to whole page view, the scroll bars disappear.

Maybe it's the version, I went back to an earlier version and they don't disappear for me as long as I have one of the scrolling options checked (Enable scrolling, or Two page scrolling). I zoom in, zoom out, fit to page and the scroll bars stay. When you say, "whole page view" I assume you are speaking of "fit to page"?

Amal / Adobe, can you please give us all an update for when this will be fixed. And please also reply to my previous question.
