I was doing some system cleanup and noticed acrobat is over 6 gigs! That seems crazy to me. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, I started by deleting downloaded program files, temporary internet files, emptying the recycle bin and performing all such routine maintenance. All that freed less than 200 MB. That's when I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro and recovered 86 GB. Subsequently, I installed Adobe Reader DC, and it used only a couple GB.

Where does you see 94 GB usage?

When I go to Cotrol Panel and check programs (install/Uninstall) it shows up as 94 GB and seems to be growing a bit each day. I would like to use the program; however, it is eating up a great deal of disk space - now 25% of a 500GB hard drive.

Is there a way to re-install Acrobat DC and ensure it does so with a much smaller footprint?

The same story, remove Acrobat => 15GB free, install it back, after 1 month => no space. no other SW is install in that time.
Is there any solution to solve it without reinstallation?

Correct answer: Do not use Acrobat Reader. Get rid of it. Reader is just an utility. What is that gigabytes for god sake?

How come this issue that has been going on for YEARS is still UNRESOLVED?

It is appalling that Adobe have not realised what is causing the issue.
Everytime it installs an update, it leaves a installation file which builds up over time.
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ARM

If an update is installed successfully, Updater should cleanup no longer needed update file. If there was an issue installing update, Updater will leave it on the system so it does not have to download it again. To find out what is your case, can you please provide a bit more information?
Which product do you have installed? Screen shot of the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ARM subfolder structure that will show which update files are still there. Most importantly, can you please enable Updater verbose logging and provide AdobeARM.log file from User Temp folder approximately 3 days after verbose logging is enabled?
To enable verbose logging, please add iLogLevel DWORD registry value and set it to 1 in the registry below-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM
Do not post the log here. Send it to me in the private message or upload somewhere (Dropbox?) and provide a link.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
Hope you're doing well, and thanks for reaching out.
To assist you better, could you please share the name of the Adobe app you're using? If it's Adobe Acrobat, let us know the exact version of Acrobat Pro and the operating system (OS) you're working on.
Additionally, it would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot of the installation size from your system settings. This information will help us investigate the issue further and provide the best possible solution.
