I was doing some system cleanup and noticed acrobat is over 6 gigs! That seems crazy to me. Anyone else experiencing this?

Periodically, uninstall and reinstall. I think mine was up to 8 GB at one time and then went down to 2 GB.

WARNING: Do do this if you have an old stand-alone version or do not have an installer. You may not get it working again.

Hi @phani_4621

Sorry for the delayed response and troubled experience.
If you are still experiencing this issue, could you please share a screenshot of the application size on the machine? Also, please share the Acrobat version and OS name and version.

Please share the details. We will look into this further and try to find a solution to the problem.

Correct answer: Do not use Acrobat Reader. Get rid of it. Reader is just an utility. What is that gigabytes for god sake?

Only inquisitive about the Microsoft Windows clients that have detailed the specific issue in this string, Is this occurrence accross various variants of MS Windows or just Windows 7 or fresher?

I just looked and Apps & Features says 60GB?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously.  There is no logical reason for this.

Check multiple folders, my Adobe Reader folder was ~3.8GB, I had another 8 gigs worth of garbage in various other folders related to Adobe Reader.

I can't believe my Acrobat has reserved this much space (56GB!)

I was running out of disk space on my C drive. I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro and instantly recovered 86 GB of disk space. Yes, 86 GB!!! Can anyone explain that?

Did this happened even when you have performed cleaning maintenance in your computer? Like for example, deleting the clutter of trash documents in the recycle bin periodically, deleting the excess of log reporting files, temporary files, temporary cache folders?

I normally don't run into these issues, so I am curious if running out of disk could be because of other Adobe programs interacting with Acrobat Pro, like the Creative Cloud Desktop app, for example, or even maybe a cloud service.

Yes, I started by deleting downloaded program files, temporary internet files, emptying the recycle bin and performing all such routine maintenance. All that freed less than 200 MB. That's when I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro and recovered 86 GB. Subsequently, I installed Adobe Reader DC, and it used only a couple GB.
