Windows snap no longer works in Acrobat. Is there a fix?

Hi @Jeffrey218925204l5j ,In which operating system is this happening?

Windows 11 Pro. OS build 22621.1848

I assume that you tried repairing the installation and it didn't resolve the issue, correct?

I did repair the installation. That did not work. For other reasons, I also reformatted my hard drive and reloaded my operating system and all my applications. The problem remained.

I have the same problem on Windows 11. It started after the upgrade to Acrobat Reader version 2023.003.20244 64-bit. Now, an Acrobat window can only be snapped if I start the snapping from another application and then choose the Acrobat window. Why was the Snap Window ability removed?

You can use the snapshot tool of Acrobat.

This is unrelated to the problem. See the following link for an explanation of the Windows Snap function. The problem has nothing to do with snapshots. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/snap-your-windows-885a9b1e-a983-a3b1-16cd-c531795e6241

Windows snap works also.

No, it doesn't work from Acrobat Reader any more. That's what I'm reporting. Compare the two screenshots from the new Acrobat and a Chrome window. The Acrobat window no longer gives any Snap options.

I see now what you mean. It works in Adobe Acrobat.

Good. It used to work in Acrobat Reader too, and it works in all other Windows applications. It was only after the UI redesign that it stopped working, so I'm sure it's related to that UI upgrade.

May be a issue of the new UI.

I see we are reaching the same conclusion. Does Adobe follow the Community? They don't want bug reports from users of the free Acrobat Reader, so are they going to leave it broken until someone with a subscription reports it?

I managed to get snapping by following the instructions here
https://windowsreport.com/fix-adobe-acrobat-reader-dc-not-responding/
I only did the Disable protected mode step (4) and it seems to fix it, no idea why it works and I'm hoping it doesn't break or leave anything overly vulnerable

I tried, but it makes no difference. No snap pane is displayed when I hover above the Maximise or Restore down icon. The only way to use Acrobat with Windows Snap now is to initiate the snapping from another application.

This is not working

Just curious,
I am not sure if this has anything to do with the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro installation method when it is deployed through the Creative Cloud.
If Acrobat was installed using the Creative Cloud (CC) Desktop app, or through the Adobe Creative Cloud online services, I am wondering if the 64-bit version of Adobe Acrobat ( that is bundled with the CC apps on your individual plan) could be the problem.
Can you tell if removing that version of Acrobat and installing a stand-alone version of Acrobat would improve the issue?
At least on my end, I've always installed Adobe Acrobat as a stand-alone program and not through the CC.
In doing so, many of the issues that users are reporting here I never had since Windows 10 (I am on Windows 11 now with no issue).
Yet, still I don't think this may be the issue.
In the Microsoft support guidance that @fithsk posted, they fail to mention that when you use the keyboard short cuts (keeping the Windows logo key pressed + the arrow keys to enable the Snap Assist), you have to manually double tap on the desired arrow key in order to execute the actual snap to a desired position on the screen or to a maximized/minimized window state).
Also, they don't emphasize that most programs (or desktop apps) are also capable of smart windowing and positioning themselves on the desktop screen.
And this is affected by the last remebered state of that program when the user closes or exits the app or program.
Can anyone confirm if this observation is accurate?
Any Apple users out there experiencing the same thing on macOS computers?

According to my installation log, I downloaded the software from https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/?promoid=8JD95JPQ&mv=other# in 2018. Since then, it has kept itself updated. I don't know what Creative Cloud is.
This was working until Adobe's latest update of the UI (don't see how that made anything better; it's simply more confusing and still uses vertical toolbars, which rob valuable space when I need to compare two documents side by side on a 17″ screen), and then it stopped working.
I don't use keyboard shortcuts for the Snap feature, only the mouse. I hover above the layout I want and then click on it. After the Adobe update, no Snap layout choices are displayed from Adobe any more. I have to start the Snap procedure from another application.
This is simply broken. This is a basic and simple Adobe Reader installation.

Disable the new UI.
