Word Document not Saving

I go to save my document and I recieve the message below.  I have gone to several sites online and have been told I need to un-install and then re-install Adobe Reader.  Need advice as I need to get work done.

"Word cannot save this document due to a naming or permissions error on the destination volume."

How do I get rid of this situation?

Each OS has a number of restrictions on file and naming conventions. Also Word may be limiting you to certain safe directories.

Since Word is issuing this message, it really is a Word problem.
