Acrobat Preflight - Spot Colour CMYK values check

Hi,

Trying to create a preflight check, where named Spot colour has to hold certain values for CMYK (C=0 M=53 Y=100 K=0). Other than that should result in fail.

So far I have this but it doesn't seem to work:

Tried to use "Color values for fill" but it also doesn't work for me... Any ideas?

Correct answer Pete Stan

For anyone interested just got an answer from Stephan Jaeggi PDF-AKTUELL  (I hope he doesn't mind I am pasting here his valuable answer!):

Color value for fill" checks the real color. This doesn't work for alternate colors of spot colors.

AFAIK it's not possible to check the values of alternate colors in Acrobat Preflight at the moment.

Callas pdfToolbox 9.1 has new checks called "Alternate color value of spot colors".

There is a chance that an upcoming version of Acrobat will also include these checks...

I don't know if you can do what you want, but I hope we hear from someone who knows more about it than me.

Sure, that's looking at the colour space.  Not the fill value.

That's correct, my bad for confusing the terms. Anyway, it is possible to check for any deviations from these exact values via preflight?

Getting deep into PDF internals, but... a spot colour, used for fill, has only ONE colour component, a tint value between 0.0 and 1.0. The alternate colour, which might be CMYK, RGB or preferably Lab, is a property of the colour space, not of the fill. I don't know if you can do what you want, but you can't do it this way.

Interestingly enough Acrobat can see the fill values for spot here:
