Acrobat Pro started up in French.

Acrobat Pro started up in French. I have an English version and French is not even an option. I work with an iMac. I've already tried to reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro but the problem is still there. I have this Creative Suite for a few years now and I never had this problem before. What can I do to make this English again?

I tried to look it up on google and I found someone with the same problem. He could chat with Adobe Support and they shared the screen. They found a corrupt file that needed to be removed in the 'application support' folder. But I don't know which document I need to remove to solve the problem.

Adobe (Acrobat) Reader is not the same as Adobe Acrobat Pro. There is support for the latter, not the former, which is a free application.

The Shift key does nothing. In Preferences there is no option 'langue'. I looked it up to change the languages and they say that it would stand be 'internationales'. But it's an English version and normally there is no other option, so I can't change the language. By reinstalling I could choose between 'English (International)' or 'English (America)'. But it still started up in French. I tried to call Adobe Support but they say there is no phone support for Acrobat Pro. Everything is in French, even the uninstall dialogues.

That's not true. Acrobat Pro (DC or XI) is supported by Adobe. Call again

and demand help.

Try holding down Shift when you launch the application. It should open a language selection dialog.

If that doesn't work then press Cmd+K inside Acrobat to open the Preferences window and then go to Language (probably something like "Langue" in French) and the first option there should be the application language selection.
