Adobe Acrobat 8 activation

I have been unable to activate my copy of acrobat 8. Won't connect to the internet - Error code 160:41

Phone activation no longer available.

Yes, all of them. As I said, no problems with any of the 4 steps.

Just won't connect!

if you have windows, you could

uninstall

clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart your computer

reinstall and retry activating.

That worked (after a couple of attempts to activate).

But won't register (after 10 attempts!).

there's no reason to register.

just secure your serial number and installation file for future use.

also, you can update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
