Adobe Acrobat Pro X no longer opening my files

Greetings forum,

I currently have Adobe Acrobat Pro X with the most recent patch (I believe it was put out late 2015)

My OS is Windows 10.

Until this evening, my pdf's were opening fine.  I had a pdf open and then it just disappeared.  I tried to re-open it as well as other pdf's and nothing happens.

At first I thought this was an issue with Windows 10, as this also happens to some of their apps when trying to open.  However I am not sure this is the case.

Has anyone else recently had this issue?

Is there a way to fix this?  I am pretty sure that Pro X should still be usable, and that I would not need to upgrade to Pro X1...

Much appreciated.

Acrobat X is not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected.

Also, you can't upgrade to XI as that is an old version as well. The current version is called Acrobat DC.

I forgot to mention that I got this version from a purchased CS6 package from my university.
