Hi,

Since recently some of our users are experiencing issues where Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.16) shuts down after having been open for a few seconds.

OS: Windows 8.1

What I have already tried:

  • Removal including the cleaner tool (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs ) then clean install
  • Removal and manually removing the remaining folders in C:\User\username\appdata\roaming, local and locallow, removing anything related to Adobe acrobat form the HKLM\Software and HKCU\software.... then clean install
  • Running Adobe with admin priviledges and running it under a different user account
  • Removing and installing an older version (11.0.05) which had the same unextected shutdown
  • Removed the preferences as described here How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.  (Note that there was no new Preferences folder created after having moved the old one and starting Acrobat again)

Until now I still have no clue why this is happening and how to resolve it. Hopefully you can help.

Thanks,

Thijs

Hello Sarojini,

Yes!! Your link was the solution. Do you have any idea why this might happen to several machines so soon after each other?

Thank you so much for your help!!
