Hi,

I need to check/compare the contents from excel to PDF? Excel is my source and the PDF is final file.

Customer provide the new content in excel, we will update the excel information to indesign file and export as PDF. Then we will do proofreading if everything get updated.

For that I have to read the excel content from pdf script then check with the pdf content whether it is matching or not. If not matched then we will strikethrough.

Hope I gave a little clarity for my requirement.

Thanks,

K

Convert the Excel file to PDF and then use the Compare Documents feature of

Acrobat.

Excel:

If you look at the pdf output, the user mistakenly used comma after liquid even it is not in the excel. So this kind of errors came. In order to eliminate this, we need to do manual find and change every content.

Regards,

K

Your workflow doesn't seem to be very well thought-out... You need to review the content in a format that is suitable for such tasks. PDF files are not suited for it. They should be the last stage of your DTP process.

Do you have the original content in Excel? If so, merge both files and then perform a comparison of the two columns. That will reveal any differences. Then import the content into the InDesign file and generate a new PDF. Then you could perform the PDF comparison I mentioned, to make sure that everything is where it's supposed to be. But comparing a PDF to Excel directly is not really possible.

Hi try67,

Thank you for you suggestions. Just curious, do you meant the merging in excel to compare in two column is copying content from pdf?

K
