Converting from Word degrades graphic quality - why, and how do we fix it?

I've designed our company logo in Illustrator and it's a large, 300dpi, file.
I've tried exporting it in various formats. JPG, PNG, TIFF, and then inserting into my business letter headed document (Word) and it looks fine however when I then try to "Convert to PDF using Adobe Acrobat DC", which is an option in Word, the resulting PDF file has significantly degraded the graphic quality making it unusable.

I assume this is a settings issue but I'm not sure how to fix it.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

Sigh. Got it.

I'd changed the settings in Adobe Acrobat DC but Word also has an "ACROBAT" menu and it was just set to "Standard".  I changed that to "High Quality Print" and everything's good in the world again!

Thank you (me).
