Creating Fillable Forms -- allowing bolding or italicizing certain words -- Acrobat Pro 9
I've created a form for my clients to fill out. It has a number of fields with simple demographic data and questions requiring one or two sentences in response. There are, however, two fields which need much more room since the client may need a lot of space to answer fully. The client may need to make headings for certain paragraphs and boldface those headings and italicize certain technical terms.
when I've tried it, I finally found someone who had posted a 'solution' which was to click the FORMS icon, select "add or edit fields", single click the field, then right click and choose "Properties". In the "Text Field Properties" window, select the Options tab and check the third box, "Allow rich text formatting." Then close the Form Editing. Then the client can highlight text and right click and choose "Text Style" from the right menu.
Now this does work. However, it then changes the spacing and the field then accepts much fewer characters than before.
1) is there a different way to accomplish this?
2) I had chosen for these fields "multi-line", "scroll long text" as well as "allow rich text formatting." When I unselected them, most of the characters already entered in that field disappeared. Is there some other way of formatting these fields so the spacing remains the same?
3) Is there a way to do this in the newer upgrade, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?
4) is there a way to create a text field which will allow the user to enter much text and the field would continue onto the next page?
I know about putting a scroll bar in to a field, but then the extra information will not print out and that is centrally important for me.
Basically, I am wondering if upgrading to the latest version will be worth the money. I called tech support but was unable to get the person to really understand what I was asking.
