Creating pdf from image

New Here ,
Aug 10, 2016 Aug 10, 2016

For the past couple of months I have been having an issue I never had before. When creating a pdf from an image, the quality is very poor. In most cases, I cannot even read the smaller text. I have made sure I have the most recent update.

What conversion options do you use?

Generally speaking, the best general purpose means to create PDF from an image format is to open the image file in Adobe Photoshop and save as PDF. This offers the widest range of options (compression or not and if compressed what type of compression and quality level, downsampling or not, color conversion or not, etc.). Acrobat has native support for “opening” various image formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc. and in the process creating a PDF file, albeit with fewer options and generally less precision. Printing to AdobePDF is probably the worst way to create PDF from an image file in that multiple stages of color conversions, compression, and resampling may occur.

Thanks Dov, but I don't have that option. I'm printing the image from a 3rd party website that is hosting the data, and they don't offer the option to save the image as a pdf, only to plot to a local printer or to pdf.

In that case you probably need to contact them and report the deterioration in quality. They probably changed something in the preferences of their PDF export module that is causing this issue.
