Development of a Plugin for Adobe Reader

New Here ,
Jul 17, 2024 Jul 17, 2024

Dear Adobe Support Team,

I am a university student and I am interested in developing a plugin for Adobe Reader to add extra functionality to the web and mobile PDF reader, specifically for iPad and Safari. I have read the official Adobe documentation, but I found the licensing process somewhat confusing. Could someone please explain the necessary steps and requirements for obtaining the appropriate licenses? Additionally, I would like to know the complete process for developing and integrating this extension Olso I want so sell it for other student. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance on how to proceed.

Hi,

First point of note, this is not Adobe support, this is other users/programmers/coders/enthusiasts that help out for free and provide the best information we have and to the best of our abilities.

Adobe Acrobat Reader on desktop and the Reader in the ipad are two very different products, you can create a plug-in for the Adobe Acrobat Reader but then you need to get it allowed to be installed an run in Adobe Reader and you will need to contact Adobe support for that, and I am sure that it costs to be able to do this. For the iPad as far as I am aware this is not available at the moment.
