do not want to distribute form

I created a fillable form using acrobat 8 pro years ago and it worked fine. I needed to edit it recently and was forced to use Life Cycle. I never wished to distribute the form. It is a proposal that I use over and over again. I want to save each one on my computer and also send it to my customers as a clean PDF attachment. It stopped saving so I had to print, scan and attach which makes for a not so professional appearance. I want my customers to be able to download, read, print and even digitally sign. I just don't want them to be able to edit it.  Life Cycle thinks I'm some sort of forms editor/manager and I have a staff to distribute to. I understand the tracking aspect into a spreadsheet and if I were younger in my career, I might like that. I'm nearing retirement and just want to prepare my proposals. It is very involved with lots of fill in boxes and do not want to start all over again. I just want to be able to edit it in acrobat and not use life cycle.

George- I am using Acrobat 8 professional. I've tried distributing it and not distributing it. When I distribute it, it creates all the tracking files which I do not need and am afraid to delete them.

You don't have to delete anything if you don't want to. Just start with the form that you save in LiveCycle Designer, open it in Acrobat 8, and select: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader

Do you have access to LiveCycle Designer so you can make the changes you want? You are never required to distribute a form and can instead simply save as a PDF and use it like you describe with Acrobat/Reader.

George- I have made the changes. Now I just want to change the permissions (I guess) so I can fill in the blanks with reader and save a copy each time I fill in the blanks when I create proposals for my clients.

Forms created with LiveCycle Designer can't be changed with Adobe Acrobat.

Bernd- I created it originally in acrobat and edited it later with life cycle.  The problem is it wants me to distribute it and it is not necessary.  As a template, I need to save each time I give a customer a proposal for work to be done. Having edited it in life cycle I can no longer save the completed filled in form that I fill in using reader and I have to use reader to complete the form (long story).
