Error 1310 on Adobe Acrobat DC installation attempt

Adobe Acrobat DC won't install on my computer. I keep getting "Error1310: Error writing to file: [long path name]. Verify that you have access to that directory." Of course, I have access. I'm the computer's only user/administrator. Anyone else run into this and know how to fix it?

disable av/antimalware.

right click the installer > click 'run as administrator'.
