During the download of Acrobat Pro DC within Adobe's Installer, I receive the following error code and message: Error 1714.  The older version of Adobe Acrobat DC cannot be removed.  Contract your technical support group.  Right before giving this message, the download progress bar jumps from 30-40% to 75%.  The only adobe product I currently have installed is 9.5 Pro. I cannot seem to find a related problem and solution elsewhere.  I am running a Windows 10 laptop.

Resolved.

Had to uninstall Pro 9.5.  Windows uninstaller would not allow me to uninstall, so I had to use Adobe Cleaner tool, found here Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs .  Once I uninstalled Adobe 9.5 Pro, restarted the computer, I was able to install Acrobat Pro DC.
