HI,

I am working on a interactive pfd in indesign, I placed a video in it and when I look at the preview the video shows up.
however, when I export it to a interactive PFD the video is gone.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix this?

Wich video format are you using? The best option is using the h264 codec.

I have the same problem. Whatever I have tried in InDesign, my videos will not display in my PDF. I have tried everything and spend hours on trying to solve the issue. I have all the newest cc apps installed, so there shouldn't be any codec issues or missing player issues.

This is what I have tried so far without success:

I switched to the interactive PDF work space

I have added the video in multiple formats

tried with and without resizing the video

with and without skins

with looping and without looping

tried all export PDF presets

As Steffis suggested, the preview is about the only thing that works. Seriously, what is the point of offering a video feature in InDesign if it doesn't work and then to suggest we should use Acrobat to do the job??

I appreciate the workaround, but that is clearly not a viable solution. Also, there is not possibility in Acrobat to loop the video. But that's exactly what I need for my PDF tutorial.

It simply does not play the video after I export it. I have all the newest CC application installed.

Frustrating.

If anyone out there has gotten this feature to work in an exported standalone pdf file please let us know (I have gotten it to work in pdf published online).

In Adobe Acrobat Pro DC use Tools > Rich Media
