How can I Perform a Mail Merge Using an External Data Source and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

I am creating a fairly complicated document and would like to incorporate merge fields from an external data source (Excel) in a PDF document (Adobe Acrobat Pro DC). It seems that there used to be a plug-in. Is it still available? or are there other options? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, this was (and still is) possible using the PDF Maker plugin of Acrobat in (some) versions of Office, specifically in Word and Excel.

If it's available to you you'll find it under the Acrobat button in the ribbon of those applications.

If it's not then you can still do it using a script, like this one I've developed and which you can purchase here:
