How the heck do you make custom stamps?

I have been trying to make custom stamps for quite some time and it the program keeps asking me for things I have no idea what it is talking about.  I know I am a newbie but please help it would help my practice immensely.  Thanks.

To start with, you need a PDF that you would like to use as a stamp. I wrote an article about how to make custom stamps. Start with Step 7. (Steps 1-6 are about how to make the stamp artwork in Illustrator).
