How to get the text bold and aligned in the “add text field”?

I couldn’t figure out how to get the text bold and aligned in the “add text field” as we do in Word.

Thank you

Hi.

In the text field Properties : Options.

Tick the "Allow RTF format" checkbox.

Then, using the hand tool enter and select text in the field, then select and hit CTRL-E (or CMD-E on Mac OS) to display text properties.

Edit: Oops, I should refresh the page before (duplicate) posting…

Hope is useless.

It's always better to ask: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

- Because of history: the RTF format was added later, as an overlay.

- Because an Acrobat Reader user can not access the form field Properties. An end user just need to edit its texts, not to edit form fields properties.

Why these settings can only be set at the level of “form field text properties” but not “text field properties”.

It does make sense if such settings (format) can be managed at the level of text field properties”.

It's important to understand that Acrobat is not the same kind of application as Word, and many things you can do in the latter are simply not possible in Acrobat.

To set the font of a text field to bold you need to select a font that's bold. Open the Font drop-down menu in the first screenshot and you should find it there.

To set alignment of the text (beyond left/right/center, which can be done under the Options tab), requires setting the field as having "Rich Text Formatting" (also under the Options tab).

After you do that exit the Form Edit mode and click into the field, and then press Ctrl+E. That will open the Properties Bar and you'll see all kinds of formatting options there, including alignment.
