I am attempting to create a silent install to push out to various computer labs. I am using Symantec Management Console 8.0 to create and distribute software across the network. I created a job to install the latest version of Acrobat Pro and the job tells me it completed successfully. However when I check the target computer, Acrobat Pro never installed. I found a customization wizard for Acrobat Pro that appears to be the same version, yet it will not read the .msi for this program. Any suggestions of althernate methods to try would be appreciated. This is a heavily used program in my area.
Hi Barbvanhook,
Please try the attached link for silent installation
Or Check this link.
Windows cmd line and msiexec — Enterprise Administration Guide
And let us know if that helps.

"Note:
If you use the CCP package MSI instead of the package setup.exe to deploy the package, Acrobat DC is not installed."
Ah I think this explains it. I'll try the setup.exe instead. Curious as the .msi built by CCP worked with every other package I sent down.

Thank you for the link. I was using the .msi at the root of the Build folder and that was the wrong one. Following the article you linked to me I was able to open the other .msi in the customization tool and built a .mst that has enabled my remote install job to work. Thank you!

Ok the setup.exe worked once. And once only. Still working on a silent install that continues to work after installing on a test computer.
