Install Acrobat Pro DC trial without removing Acrobat Pro 9?

Question

I have 3 users in my environment that all have Acrobat Pro 9 installed on their laptops. They have signed up for a class this coming Sunday for Acrobat Pro DC and the class requires that they install the Acrobat Pro DC trial. No one told me until today. Is there a way to have both softwares installed simultaneously on the same Windows 7 64-bit computer? None of the users have Creative Cloud, which is the only way I've seen this done so far. Trying to upgrade the Acrobat Pro version from 9 to DC at this point seems like too much, as the whole point is to evaluate if the users want to even transition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

that is supposed to be possible, but some users have problems.

before you do anything, secure your acrobat pro 9 serial number(s), so if there are problems you can reinstall acrobat pro 9.

during installation of acrobat dc, check for an advanced options checkbox that allows you to prevent uninstalling previous versions, Before You Upgrade to Creative Cloud 2015
