Installation of Acrobat Pro X on new PC with Windows 10 - possible?

Hello,
on my new computer Windows 10 is installed. I would like to continue working with my Adobe CS6 Version. InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator seem to work but Acrobat Pro X won't install from the CD (error 1603).
I tried to download Version X from Adobe but my Serial Number is not accepted. (???)

Is there any chance to run version X or XI on my computer with Windows 10 or do I have to downgrade to Windows 7? I don't want to run Acrobat DC.

Thanks a lot for any helpful hint!

Dee

re: error 1603, Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during Adobe Creative Suite installation

your serial number is for suite, not for acrobat pro x (even though it's included in your suite).  so, if you download installation files, they must match your suite.

you never have to downgrade your os with windows.  you can always use compatibility mode to install software that will only work with older win versions.

You should be aware, though, that Acrobat X is not officially compatible with Windows 10.
