Please use Acrobat cleaner tool : Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Please try to reinstall Acrobat.

Or try to repair the licensing file.

Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool

and than install the Software.

What OS does the computer have? Acrobat 9 is an old version and not compatible with the current operating systems.
