Majority of tools are greyed out.

I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. It was working fine yesterday, but when i opened the document today, many of the tools I needed were greyed out, like in the picture provided. I have no idea what caused this, and I am unable to do any work on the document. Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you digitally sign or certify the file?

If not, perhaps you could post a screen shot of the File > Properties -- Security dialog.

Aha! I think you're on to something, it says changing the document is not allowed.,

I did not, but there is a chance that one of the files I inserted could have had a signature. How would I know if there was one?

It shouldn't be possible to do that.

Ok, so I don't have to worry about that. What do you make of the screenshot?

It suggests to me that the file is signed, or something similar. Hard to say without seeing the actual file.
