PDF's are not opening when double clicked on a mac...

Hey, I recently installed CS6, and all was working fine. So I thought...

But today I tried double clicking a pdf I received on an email and it looked like it was going to open fine like normal but it didn't.  I restarted my machine thinking it needed a restart.  Still didn't work.  Tried other pdfs still nothing. I have always had Adobe Acrobat Pro X on my laptop and never had a problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have seen this question previously answered in regards to a window laptop but not a mac.

Please help ASAP, it is very annoying!

Thanks

Hello scm333 ,

Are you still facing this issue ?

Can you please try the workflow suggested by Ashu in the reply above ,

Open a few files with Acrobat, go to Window -> Cascade -> Tile and see if that brings up the PDFs.

Also let us know if you are on a dual monitor system?

Thanks,

Hi Meenakshi,

I have tried all of the suggestions in this link, and the issue is still there.

Also I cannot repair acrobat because this is a Windows only option.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can try, I'm starting to loose hope...I have deleted and reinstalled the program and this did nothing.

Thanks,

Sarah

Sarah,

Can you open the PDF by first launching Acrobat, then choosing File > Open?

If yes, bring up Get Info on any PDF (File menu or right-click or Cmd+I).

In the Get Info, select:

1. Open with: Adobe Acrobat

2. Change All

Then try double-clicking a PDF again. Does it work now?
