Question

Possible to cut 1 page in half and make two pages from it?

Hi,

I have a pdf book and I would like to cut each page in half, the first half being a page and the second half being created as another page. So it will exactly double the amount of pages in the book. Once each page is cut in half, each half it will stretch over an entire page thus increasing its viewing size. I would not mind if it was to cut words of images in half during this process.

The reason : I have a kindle and its horrible for reading pdfs as they are so small and the zoom on a kindle is not good. Thus I had this idea.

Does it exist?

Thanks,

Nathan

I bought and used this product. It did work for me, but demo it first.

You can find a free solution here: Page Splitter Redux - KHKonsulting LLC

Kremer,

It works for some documents but not for others. It also only splits vertically. I wanted a horizontal split as per first post and also the pdf documents are really 'skinny' from your script, they do not stretch the resulting image across the screen to form a readable A4 page.

You have access to the script and can modify it so that it fits your needs. The script/action was written for over specific use case. If you can provide a sample document, I may be able to make the necessary modifications - but it may take a few days until I get around to it.

This can be done in Acrobat either manually (duplicate all pages, crop each one to one side or the other), or by using a script, like this one I've developed: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Split Pages in 2 Parts and Combine to a New File
