Question

Preflight Color within the trim box and trim box size

Hi there,

I need to create a droplet to check a huge amount of PDFs and create a report (txt or xml) for each PDF.

The most important information is the actual size of the trim box and the colors used within the trim box.

So I created a Preflight profile and it shows me the  trim box size in mm.

But when I save the report as txt this information is missing!

When I save the same report as XML I can find the trim box size, but not in mm.

I have no clue what kind of units I get. My trim box is actually 220 x 148 mm but the XML report shows 651.969 x 447.874 ??.

My second problem is the colors actually used. I need Acrobat to ignore anything outside the trim box and give me the colors (CMYK and spot) used within the trim box.

Our clients have hundreds of PDFs with a color bar outside the trim box that gives false results.

I tried it with Acrobat X and DC.

Thank you for any helpful advise!

Your file does not seem to be exactly a5. Unless specified I would expect the units to be PDF's own unit points (exactly 1/72 inches or 25.4/72 mm).

Bear in mind that each page may be different.
