Print to PDF fails with error: %%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: definefont; ErrorInfo: StemSnapV --nostringval-- ]%%

Hi,

There seems to be an issue with printing to PDF from certain web sites. I did a research and found a couple of workarounds but non of them helped to print the document.

I also tried to print to Microsoft XPS Viewer as .xps file, and then tried to print from that application, print failed with the exact error. I tried this on multiple computers, same issue.

I tried to print after unchecking "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts". And also I tried unchecking "Embed all fonts" in the default settings.

The issue is on Windows 8.1 machine running Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.16 . Below is the log file Adobe generates when I try to print.

%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%

%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: definefont; ErrorInfo: StemSnapV --nostringval-- ]%%

Stack:

/Font

-dict-

/ADCFAA+ProximaNova-Extrabld

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%

%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply but I already tried that with no success. The only solution that worked for me was following below steps and then printing to pdf.

To override all font and color settings for websites
1.Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
2.Tap or click the Tools button Tools button, and then tap or click Internet options.
3.Tap or click the General tab, and then, under Appearance, tap or click Accessibility.
4.Select the Ignore colors specified

Hi sy31415 ,

Please check whether is there any update available for the software after going through "help > check for updates "

Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.

This error can be resolved by changing one of the Adobe PDF printer settings.

  • When you are in the print dialog, and you have selected the appropriate PDF printer, select "Properties."
  • In the dialog box, there should be a tab titled "Adobe PDF Settings," and it should look like the below image.

  • Un-check "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts."

Click OK,then quit & relaunch the application.

Let me know if it works.

Regards,

Yatharth
