QUESTION: Comment colors, lines, or icons disappear while commenting

The highlights, icons, and other markups suddenly quit within a PDF I am leaving comments on. They show in the sidebar but not in the document itself.  It works fine for a while but then all at once it quits. If I save the file, close it, and open it again, they are there.

Why is it not more stable? What am I doing wrong? Is it the software?

Could you please let us know the  dot version of Adobe application and OS you are using.

Please make sure that the application is updated to the latest patch released.

Also let us know if this issue occurs with a particular PDF.

I am using OS 10.11.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC  version 201.  I am on automatic download and continually check for update every time it either does this or crashes. No, it is not particular which document it does it on. All at once they will disappear.

Please make sure that your application is updated to the latest patch released.

Try once to uninstall the application and restart your system.

Then re-install the application from this link: Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI, or X
