Correct answer Karl Heinz Kremer

When I check the download page (Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9 ), I only see downloads for the Standard and Pro version, not for Pro Extended. I would recommend that you take your CD/DVD and a thumb drive to somebody who still has a computer with a CD/DVD drive and copy the contents of the optical disk to the thumb drive. You can then install from the thumb drive.

I actually ran into the same problem a while ago when I tried to re-install Acrobat 9, and since then, I have a copy of the installer saved on my network server. You will also run into problems with installing the updates to Acrobat 9, once you managed to get the original version installed. Some updates will install when you turn the computer clock back to a certain date, other updates need to be downloaded from Adobe's FTP server and installed manually. Make sure that you also read the comments, they contain valuable information (e.g. about what date to use, and what update sequence to use - you still have to download and install most updates, but not all of them).
