Hello, Is there a way to default Acrobat DC to show the Ruler and Guides on startup, instead of having to select it every single time?

Hi TownofDerry ,

I want to mention that currently there is not an option to view Rulers and Guides on startup by default, however you can press Ctrl+ R on your keyboard to view Rulers easily. You can also request for this feature here : Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Thank You!

Shivam

Hi all,

Acrobat DC update with a preference to always show rulers is now available, read more here: What's new in Adobe Acrobat DC. This update will be automatically applied to all Acrobat and Reader users in the coming days. You may also update to the latest release by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

Release notes for today's release are here: 17.012.20093 Planned update, August 8, 2017 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes

Please try it out and let us know your feedback.

Thanks!

i  appreciate  this  thread … but,  see  no  such  evidence.  the  first  link  ashumittal  posted  contains  no  reference  to  any  "show-ruler"  pref … also  noted  the  #rulerPreference  anchor  in  the  url … but,  again,  no  boomerang.  guess  i  will  just  have  to  rely  on  adobe's  "ctrl+ r"  command.

edit:

i  stand  corrected … the  program  does  seem  to  offer  the  feature (prefs/units/guides) … the  ruler  momentarily  appears,  but  then  quickly  disappears.  might  be  due  to  the  mac-osx  i  am  using.

fwiw … the  link  cited  above  should  actually  be:

What's new in Adobe Acrobat DC 2017 releases

… and  the  ruler  still  disappears.
