Tagging links in headers / footers
I am unable to tag a link found in a header or footer. For accessibility purposes, I want the header and footer on page one read aloud by screen readers. The information must be properly tagged for this to happen. Footers often have a (properly formatted) link within the text for those who need the document in an alternate format for accommodation purposes. However, I am unable to tag the link no matter what I try. I have tried to:
- highlight the link and tag it as text (does not recognize the link as a link, and keeps it as <P>
- Use the Find feature to find unmarked links and then have Adobe tag it as a link (ended up with incorrect tagging structure when using this).
- Use the Find feature to find unmarked annotations and then have Adobe tag it as a link
- manually build the link by starting with a <P> tag, and then add a child <Link> and then added a child <Annot> along with the text. This kind of worked, but I received "tagged annotations - failed" error. And, this is going to be too confusing to the majority of our Adobe Pro users.
If I use the second party add on, CommonLook, I can highlight the text, tag it as a <P> and the link within the sentence is automatically and properly tagged. However, there are many users with Adobe, and I am the only one with CommonLook. How can I have others tag their own documents in a quick, easy, non-error inducing way?
Using: Microsoft 7 with Adobe Pro XI
Thank you,
