Using Acrobat X Pro and Pro DC on the same machine

I have a client with a pdf form with text boxes and JavaScript I maintain in Acrobat X Pro.

I have recently been given a newer, more complex submitable pdf that was created in Pro DC version. Apparently the JavaScript libraries are the same, so another developer says.

I need to install Prod DC and keep Adobe X Pro. I found this article: Using Acrobat X, XI, and DC on the same machine  and it does state you can have both on your desktop. The concern I have is Blocked workflows from AX/XI when you have both X and DC installed

I would like to know what exactly this affects when I'm maintaining both pdf forms in each version? PDF's can be picky to work with, without added problems of version conflicts.

thx for your time

Hi ,

Would like to inform that you may open both the forms in both application version. But you can modify the documents in Acrobat Pro DC only, as workflows for Acrobat X pro will not work with Acrobat DC installed.

Hi jamesbond10 ,

Would like to inform that you may use both  versions at the same time on your system, but the PDF creation functionalities will be blocked for Acrobat X when DC is installed on your system . When once DC is uninstalled, then only you will be able to use workflow of Acrobat X .

You will be able to open the document in both the version with out any conflicts .

Perhaps there has been a misunderstanding of the question concerning the blocked workflows with both installed

What I want to know is:

If I have one pdf form created and maintained in Adobe X Pro and a newer pdf form created with Adobe DC pro, are you saying not to install both versions?

I need to be able to update both pdf forms, not just open them

thx
