Wrong program downloaded [Accidentally downloaded Acrobat DC. Want to download and reinstall Acrobat 8]

I have purchased Adobe Acrobat 8, but is dowloading as Acrobat DC a wanted the Acrobat 8.. or is this a new version and works the same as Acrobat 8?

Acrobat 8 is four versions behind DC. The installer for version 8 is different to the installer for DC.

If you went to the Adobe website and downloaded Acrobat, you'll always get the latest version. It will install as a trial version until you pay for it and get a separate DC serial number.

If you simply want to reinstall your paid-for version 8 then use the link provided by Ned above to download the installer for version 8.
