I just purchased a new 64-bit desktop using Windows 10, and reconnected my Epson DS-510 scanner and downloaded and installed my version of Acrobat Pro DC, version 2015.006.30201. The scanner no longer works through the Adobe document creation, where I used to have the ability to smoothly avoid the Epson interface and to select custom settings through Acrobat. My attempt to download a 64-bit driver from Epson did not cure the problem. I see there was a fix for something like this in 2015, but my attempt to install said that the fix could not find a compatible product. Any suggestions how to get back up and running? Please and thanks.

Basically it is the vendor's (Epson) drivers that make or break the functionality. Acrobat does not "run" the scanner; the vendor's software does that.
Be well...

I resolved the problem by uninstalling the 64-bit driver that I was initially prompted to download, and installed the 32-bit driver. This works just fine.

Thanks Richard for the confirmation.
You can go through the option available in Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat if you face any problem related to Acrobat/Scanner connectivity in future.
Thanks.
