N-400 FORMS: UNCHANGABLE AUTO FILL FOR COUNTRY SELECTION

When I am filling the address portion of the n-400 form, I select the state as "NY". When doing so, the country selection autofills to "USA". However, that country selection is only for foreign countries. I tried deleting it and changing the preferences but still there was no solution. Please help! Thank you!

Also, unable to input N/A in a lot of empty slots (especially in address,  names etc..)which I feel like I need to do to prevent any delaying in application progress.

Chrome uses its own internal PDF plugin, which is sub-par to Adobe's software in many ways, especially when it comes to form fields.

The fact that you can do it in Chrome doesn't mean you should do it.

I don't know what the reason is but I'm guessing that the data you submit gets transferred to a database or further (automated) processing. Having an empty "Country" field is not good practice. It's better to have it automatically filled with a value ("USA"), and then process it accordingly.

When I use my chrome web browser to fill out "N/A" etc..  it doesn't prevent me from doing so. Theres also no problem with the autofill for the country. The only issue with my web browser is that I can't type in the alien registration number in the second page  +. Besides that, I am able to fill out whatever. The adobe program however, prevents me from making the correct changes. I don't believe that the authors of the form want it to behave this way because the USA is not a foreign country so why would it be inputed in that selection?

If it auto-fills based on your selection then the authors of the form probably want it to behave in this way.
At any rate, you should contact them directly and ask if it's OK or not instead of trying to mess around with it.
