I'm not sure what is happening, as I can edit some PDFs but when I open 2 specific PDFs and hit the Edit button, I get the message "More tool components are being installed. We'll let you know when you can use the tool".
I have tried restarting my computer, saving these files with a different name and reopening them and get the same message over and over again.
What can I do so that I can edit these PDFs without getting the message "More tool components are being installed. We'll let you know when you can use the tool"?
Thanks much!

Hi @JoshAnton
As we can check you have the Acrobat DC subscription active, can you confirm if you are getting this error on the desktop app or on a browser?
Could you provide us with a few more details?
1. If it is happening on a browser, try to change the browser and check if that helps.
2. If it is on the desktop app, check if the app is up to date and let us know the version.
Thanks,
Harsh

Thanks for your response Harsh!
The error I am getting is through the desktop app. I have read some help documents that suggested to try "Repair Installation", so I did that yesterday and that didn't change anything for me as I keep getting the same error and cannot edit the PDF.
After seeing your response, I checked for Updates and there are none available. I have version 2021.011.20039 64-bit.
What can I try to remedy this issue now?
Thanks,
Josh

Hi @JoshAnton
Check the PDF properties of those two PDFs and under the Security tab, check if the Editing is allowed or not?
If it is possible, could you share a link to any of the PDFs that we can test in a private message?
You can also try to recreate the PDFs if you have the original source document using File > Save As Adobe PDF or use Print to Adobe PDF.
Thanks,
Harsh

Thanks Harsh,
It looks like I have permissions to edit the PDF. When I "Print to PDF" it does not work. I sent you an email with all of these details and one of the PDFs as a n attachment.
Please advise if you recieved the email and what next steps are.
Thanks again,
Josh Anton

Thanks for providing the PDF, we have checked and it is opening fine on our end. Kindly try to reinstall the app, using the Acrobat cleaner tool. Here is reference article: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
Installer: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Hi tish_2961,
Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the delay in response.
Please ensure that the application is updated to the latest version. In the Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates. You may check the latest version available on the following help page: https://adobe.ly/4h7cwtv.
Try reinstalling the application if the issue still occurs. Use the following steps to reinstall the application:
-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/4fd8XzX).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/3UjbC30;
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
