Is the video coming from another source like YouTube, etc...?  You would need to open the PDF in Acrobat to determine the source of the video file.

Add audio, video, and interactive objects to PDFs in Adobe Acrobat

thank you Nancy....based on the size of the PDF (138 MB) I'm guessing it is embedded.

I'm opening it in Acrobat Pro, but have the full Adobe suite if needed. I'm just stuck.

I've never tried this because I keep native video files on main HD & backup drives.   But if this is all you have to work with, try the steps below.   This may not work for all embedded file types.

  • Open pdf
  • Play video by clicking on it.
  • Once the video starts playing right click on it and choose properties
  • Look for the file location which should be in your Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp folder
  • Go find the temporary file, pause video if necessary as it will be deleted once playback is finished, and copy it somewhere else on your computer.
