Please let us know the Adobe application you are using and how you were trying to sync the file.
Check if you are able to locate the required PDF under the document cloud here: https://cloud.acrobat.com/recent

Thank you kindly for your reply, Meenakshi. I was using the Adobe Acrobat application on my iPad Air. I was working with a PDF file for three days. I think that the file probably synced to the cloud a couple of times during that period. After three days, when I was back home from the conference, I connected to Wi-Fi and saw that the application was “syncing”. However, it appeared to get hung up in that process. I restarted the application after a while and then the file in Document Cloud could no longer be opened on my iPad or my computer.
I checked out the link below. Although I see a couple versions of the file, none are from any time prior to the corruption. It would have to be dated between June 17 and June 19. Perhaps there is a copy somewhere?
I appreciate your help. If possible, it would be great to recover the notes that I took during the 3-day seminar.
Thanks kindly.
Edward

When you try to open the file under any document cloud, do you get any error message?
If yes, could you please share the error message.
Also let us know if you saved the changes last time you worked on the file.

Hello,
Thank you for your response. When I try to open the corrupted file that is in the document cloud, the error message that I get is: “There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.” This is true from within the iPad app and the Acrobat Reader DC app on my Mac computer.
I also tried opening the same PDF from other compatible applications (Notability, OS X Preview, Photoshop Elements) and they all fail to recognize the format.
The only editing that I did to this file was add textbox notes to its various pages. I did this on the iPad Acrobat app. It seems to be stuck in a synchronization so I restarted the application. This is when I could no longer open the file due to the above error.
It seems like my only hope is that a previous version was saved between June 17 and June 19. The corruption occurred in the evening on June 19.
Once again, I appreciate your efforts.
Sincerely
Edward

If you would like me to send a copy of the corrupted file, I can do so. I did not wish to post it on the public site though.

It seems the file is corrupted as it is not able to open from any of the application.
Once the file corrupted cannot be retrieved.
Please check your private message for the email details to share the files with us.

Why would anybody ever want to use Adobe Document Cloud if you can't trust that you can retrieve files?
